In Aptamer area, a special group of qualified scientists are engaged in conducting basicresearch on Aptamer and its application to develop Aptamer reagent products and in vitro diagnostic products. The Aptamer reagent products are used in assays to detect the presence of specific cell membrane and/or intracellular proteins and to measure the level of these target proteins on a sample. The in vitro products are used for clinical diagnostics to simultaneously detect or measure multiple proteins or other target molecules in a sample. For the source technology for aptamer identification and for the development of in vitro diagnostic products, Strategic Alliance agreement was entered into with SomaLogic Co., Ltd. of USA on July 27, 2007.

Headed by Professor Sung Ho Ryu , the Aptamer group is staffed by Drs. Tae Woo Kim, Seung Eun Choi, Eun Sil Jeon, and Yoon Dong Kim. Some of them are under intensive training at the SomaLogic, USA.
